An insurance back office run by hand

Motus Insurance is a leader in earthquake insurance — a business where renewals, enrollments and billing have to be right and on time. But the operation ran on manual processes and ageing systems: renewals and enrollments worked by hand, there was no billing system to take payments, little reporting to show what was happening, and an interface that made everyday work harder than it needed to be.

That holds for a while and then it doesn’t. Manual steps don’t scale with enrollment growth, every renewal cycle costs more hours than the last, and the lack of operational visibility makes it hard to plan.
